Artist’s talk - Sat. Nov. 13 at 2 pm at Video In
Vancouver media artist Elizabeth Vander Zaag has been producing video art since the early 1970’s. She was one of the first (if not the first) video artists to employ digital technology in her art-making. She has continued for the last 30 years to create work that pushes the limits of technology and experiment with new ways of seeing. She is a mentor to many younger media artists who are amazed at viewing her early works that were created before many of them were born. We have selected works that reflect her development as an artist from the seminal series “Digit” (1974) to her latest software project “Talk Nice” (2002-present) where she has developed unique voice recognition software for a truly interactive video installation.
