This production sponsored and produced by the Powell Street Festival included a photography exhibition by YELLOW PERIL artist Tamio Wakayama at the Vancouver Museum in July, 1992 and a comprehensive history of the Festival in hardcover book format released in the summer of 1992.
Our artistic director, Paul Wong, was selected as the curator and associate editor for the project. He began work with the Powell Street Festival in the fall of 1991 and drew on many of our resources (computers, software, archives and administration) to conduct his curatorial duties. We subsidized his salary so that he could begin working with Tamio in advance of the project's funding being in place.
